It's getting really hard trying

It's getting really hard trying to deal with all my problems. back, car, work, school and home. i wanna crawl in a hole.

The problems keep coming.

I got in this lovely accident on the 11th. Door panel severly dented, rear quarter panel as well. The damage looks a lot worse than the picture shows. My door will not open. My wheel cover shattered and afterwards I tried looking for the metal rim that holds it to the wheel. Couldn't find it. The biggest piece of the cover I found was about the size of a deck of cards.

As I'm driving down the lane at my college, another girl is pulling out of a parking lot. Well, after the huge storm that dumped about 16-18 inches of snow on the area in about 2 or 3 days, the snow was a visibility hazard. I didn't see the nose of her car until it was too late, and she didn't see me at all. She was driving her boyfriends car, and he didn't have insurance on it. Man, am I in for some headaches.

I still haven't been able to get it fixed because my insurance company is trying to figure out who to go after. Thankfully the estimate is scheduled for Tuesday. Only problem is I never want to deal with the place they want me to go. Hopefully I can get another estimate from my mechanic. I'm gonna have the work done where I want anyway.

I know I'll have updates for both my car problem and my back problem after my appointments early this week. Guess we'll see what happens.

I must love self-torture

Well, let's see. For the past 2 or 3 weeks, I have had unbelievable back pain. I went to the chiropractor 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I got off the table, walked to the lobby, walked out to my car and drove the 20 minutes back home pain-free. As soon as I got out of my car and walked in the house, the pain came back. At first I thought it was just standard muscle pain. It happens sometimes after the vertebrae are forced back into their natural positions.

I was told by my doc that if the pain didn’t go away by Wednesday that week, I was supposed to go back and put my back in place. Well, life goes on and I knew I had to call and get an appointment, but it didn’t happen for whatever reason. And I kept forgetting. Last Thursday, I had a few things to tell my boss about work procedure and the lack of help from my coworkers. I said something about my back and she flips out.

According to my company’s safety policy, an employee is not allowed to work with pain for more than 1 day without a doctor’s notice and the proper paperwork. I was allowed to work my scheduled shift on Friday, but I was taken off the schedule for Saturday and today (Sunday). I see my Dr. again tomorrow. At this appointment I need to have him fill out the work restrictions form my boss gave me.

A couple lessons were learned from this whole experience so far. First, any pain I feel needs to be reported, whether or not it is work-related. I knew this but I have always had back problems so 95% of the time I work through the pain. Second, anytime I get readjusted by my chiropractor and the pain comes back within a day, I know I need to go back.

No more screwing around with my spine. There’s my back problem rant.

Hmmm, what should I start with?

At this point, I'm proud of the Mallards for today's win. Disappointed in the Penguins, although I don't know what they can do to get back on the winning track. The WBS Pens can't win against NHL teams consistantly. I completely agree with Mario Lemeiux's statements today and also: Shut Up Frank.
